WORKSHOP on entrepreneurship on the 24th November at IATP Centre
TIG presented a workshop on entrepreneurship and it was a big success. More people came than expected and from the feedback we received people enjoyed it and thought that it was useful.
First we would like to thank IATP to have provided us a room to held the workshop. Second, we would like to thank Marina Malykhina for taking part in the workshop.
The workshop was divided in 4 parts. First after the participants had introduced themselves, Marina founder, president and CEO of Magram Market Research gave a speech about leadership and her own experience as a young woman entrepreneur. This outstanding young women, she’s only 25 and founded her company 8 years ago, impressed her audience by her smart advices and opinions as well as by her natural and friendly behaviour. The thing I got out of it is to do what you say, no matter what efforts that cost.
After we had brainstorming session about qualities required to be a good entrepreneurs. Among others: eager to self realisation, persistent, hard working, creativity, flexibility, goal oriented, calculated risk taker,…
Then the participants in small groups had to create their own enterprises, with the name, the people they need to recruit, the type of business, the target market, their strategy, their products and prices,… The most common mistake is to think that a higher quality product can be sold at a lower price than competitors without any good reasons. One group made a travel agency organising tours in Siberia doing rafting and other extremes sports. This group was mainly formed by AIESEC people and women. The second group created a web development agency and it was mainly constituted by men. Both projects were interesting and it gave them the opportunity about what to think if they wanted to start their own business.
To close the workshop, I made a presentation about how to write a business plan, what elements should be included and what is the use of it. I also gave them some useful link about organisations in Russia and international as well as opportunity for international business plan contests.
